Lighting and decorative columns model “tower”

Tender Specification

Special mast for decorative lighting made by a company ISO9001 certified and having authorisation as processing centre according to DM 14/01/08, brand “iPaliarredo” collection, series “Traffic” model “TOWER”, height up to the lighting source ~ 16, 20, 25 meters above ground, namely composed of :

➔ Monotubular shaft with polygonal cross section in several elements joined by forced overlapping, obtained by cold forming of steel sheet grade S235JR EN 10025 and subsequent external longitudinal welding carried out with automatic process MAG approved by R.I.N.A. and I.I.S. (Istituto Italiano della Saldatura) and welding checking according to EN ISO 3834. Provided for the anchorage to the basement by means of base plate and anchor bolts sunk into the foundation block, earth connection and suitable reinforced door, to inspect internal devices. On top it is provided with a flange for trailing head fixing.

➔ Movement system, complying with safety standard in force, composed of a mobile crown, where floodlights are fixed, supported by 3 hoisting ropes driven on the trailing head on top of the mast; The mobile crown sliding along the shaft, allows to bring the floodlights at suitable height allowing to make maintenance of the floodlights at ground. The movement transmitted to the ropes, is controlled by an electric hoist applied at the base of the column. The trailing head is composed of a structure with three brackets for the hoisting ropes, plus one bracket for the electric cable; it is made of hot dip galvanised steel and prepared to be fixed to the mast by means of purpose made flange and bolts. The brackets are completely covered to grant the protection of the movement devices composed of polyamide 6.6 pulleys mounted on self-lubricating bushes and inox steel pivots. A system which prevents the hoisting and electric cable to go out of their groove is provided. The brackets of the ropes are provided with hooking and centring system of the mobile. The trailing head is supplied already assembled and completed with the steel hosting cables polyethylene (designed with minimum safety coefficient 6) and with the electric cable for floodlights feeding. The hoisting ropes and the electric cables are fixed on one end to a drum, whereas the other end is passed through the brackets subsequently fixed to the mobile crown. The mobile crown is made of profiles in hot dip galvanised steel and composed of two concentric rings connected by three ribs at 120°; on each rib the hooking elastic system is fixed which is composed of inox steel pivots and double steel blades; this allows the crown to be strictly fixed to the top of the mast and to completely release the ropes from any load during the standard operation of the mast. It is foreseen an antispinning device which prevents the movement of the crown on the horizontal plane during the movement. The distribution box, the floodlights and their ballasts will be mounted on purpose made brackets in hot dip galvanised steel prepared to be fixed to the mast.

➔ Electric plant suitable to the power to be installed, composed of the interlocked socket at the base of the shaft, where it is necessary to bring the power line, from the self-bearing anti twisting cable, completed with CEE plug at one end and then branched to the distribution box on the mobile crown in the other end (in this way all the electric contact are permanent and there are no sliding contacts). The distribution box is completed with terminal board already wired, and it has a tight socket for the test at ground by purposed made extension with CEE plug

➔ Aesthetic dome cover Made of polyester resin with fibre glass hand- stratified, and protected on the surface with “gelcoat” finishing that gives a finishing touch perfectly smooth. The fibre glass which the dome is made of, is resistant to Chemical and atmospheric agents.

➔ Aesthetic arcuate brackets made of shaped and bent flat iron, prepared to be fixed to the mobile crown and lighting fitting connections according to the luminaire to be installed.

➔ Top column end made oft tube d.60 conical shaped at 20 and closed with caps at the end.

Protection against corrosion by means of hot dip galvanization obtained with the following cycle: degreasing; pickling, washing, fluxing, pre heating; hot dip galvanization in melted zinc bath at 440÷450°, with minimum percentage of zinc into the bath ≥ 98.5%.

Coating obtained according to UNI EN ISO 1461 with minimum thickness 55 microns et average 70 microns.

External painting, if any, with colour from our colour card, rough effect, obtained with thermosetting powders cycle including: cleaning from zinc coating burs; smoothing of the surfaces by means of a light mechanic device; cleaning of the surfaces in order to eliminate grease or dirty and create a good adherence base; application by means of electrostatic spray of polyester powder suitable for galvanized surfaces for outside installation, in order to reach 60/80 micron thickness; polymerization into oven at constant temperature of approx. 200° for 40-50 minutes, package for each column, by banding with tissue 100% polyester, (no pluriball), in order to avoid damages during the handling phase. The characteristics of the obtained coat will be: average thickness 60 micron, resistance to checkering test ISO2409, resistance to crash test to UNI8901

➔Electric hoist, to be fixed at the base of the shaft to raise and lower the crown when it is necessary; It is remoted controlled by the operator, by means of a push button in low tension. The electric motor, branched and powered by the interlocked socket nearby the door, transmit the movement to the chain of the hoist and therefore to the hoisting ropes of the mobile crown, allowing thus the raising and lowering of the floodlights mounted on the crown itself. Powering of the moto is made by means of an electric cable with CEE plug plugged to the fixed interlocked socket nearby the door. The power voltage is 380V three-phases. The chain of the hoist is connected to a cylinder and it transmit the movement directly to the hoisting ropes and therefore to the mobile crown. Inside the base section, nearby the door, there is a switch limiter which leads the hooking and unhooking phases of the mobile crown. The hoist is provided with brake which immediately acts in case of power lack during the movement, and immediately stops the gear and therefore stopping the lowering of the mobile crown. The hoist can be supplied separated and mounted on a trolley for easy handling at site, and it has to be fixed to the shaft when needed. In this case only one hoist is enough to move all the masts having the same performances.

As alternative the hoist can be mounted fixed inside the mast. This solution is particularly suitable when You have only one mast, or when the installation site is difficult to be reached with the trolley.

The design of the structure and the verification of the resisting sections will be carried out according to the standard in force and verification report signed by a registered engineer

The electric plant is made only employing “CE” marked components complying to the Low-tension Directive 73/23 CEE - 93/68 CEE and to Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 89/336 - 92/31 CEE - 93/68 CEE. Conformity to Machinery directive
